What do you get when you combine feminist punk and a Japanese martial art together? A bloody good time, that’s what! Well as long as you’re not a slimy creep who can’t understand when someone says no. ‘Jiu Jits-You’ is based in those uncomfortable interactions that the female members of Cardiff band Panic Shack have experienced, but in comic book superhero fashion (think Brian K. Vaughan and Cliff Chang’s Paper Girls) these women handle those unwelcome advances the way we wish we all could, by kicking their asses! In a sprightly three minutes of upbeat punk, we hear lyrics based on their new-found jiu jitsu theme after Ems and Romi had attended a class just a week before the band convened in a studio. With home-dyed pink gis and a DIY video idea, ‘Jiu Jits-You’ was fully realised into the brilliant watch you’ll find below. - Hannah Thacker
